System Configuration

We support our customers in the configuration of railway signalling systems and sub-systems in order to realise the Interlocking system for each station or line, adapting it to the specific requirements and needs, respecting the highest safety standards (SIL 4).
Interlocking systems have been designed and manufactured with a high degree of modularity and adaptability. So, with a specific configuration, they are able to monitor and control any type of station regardless of its size, the topography and the signalling rules required (which generally change according to the countries in which the system is located).
The system configuration is a detailed design activity. It aims at creating a control system that guarantees the operating rules are applied according to both the general signalling rules (signalling requirements) and the specific ones (Route Tables, Schematic Plans, etc.) for each station and its objects under the interlocking supervision and command.
The Subsystems Configuration aims to realise the interfaces of the system both with the central or local movement operator (through a vital interface) and with automatic control-and-command systems. The subsystems therefore allow the use of the system by means of the realisation of both physical (operator terminal) and digital interfaces. They therefore allow the operator, or a command-and-control system, to check the status of the station and to command the correct operations, always according to the safety standards required for this type of system. Moreover, the interface to other stations via the Italian standard vital protocol(PVS) (‘vertical’ to upper level system and/or ‘horizontal’ to adjacent interloking system) is realised when required.
